Hit-and-Run Leaves Woman Dead in Scottdale

Scottdale, GA (September 16, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred in the Scottdale community of DeKalb County on Monday morning, resulting in the death of a woman.

Local authorities responded to reports of a deceased person found in a wooded area along Calhoun Street near North Decatur Road in Scottdale. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered the victim, a woman, lying in the woods.

                                        

DeKalb County Police Department is actively investigating the incident, which involved a vehicle striking the woman while she was walking in the road. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance.

                                             

The DeKalb Medical Examiner's Office is working to identify the victim and notify her next of kin. Further details regarding the incident, such as the type of vehicle involved and the exact time of the collision, are still under investigation.

(September 18, 2024) The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Wednesday as 37-year-old Kiniya Kebede. Ongoing investigations seek to determine the exact date and time of the accident, as well as the make and model of the car that hit her.
