As someone who knew both the accused and the victim, I can't help but feel a mix of shock and sadness. Brandon Hatton, a familiar face in our community, was taken into custody by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia State Patrol SWAT team at the Sleep Inn on Fairington Road in Lithonia.
